I’ve been in Kerang, up north near the Murray, staying with a friend and her parents – lifelong beef and dairy farmers. Honest country folk whose kettle is always hot and the biscuit tin fully stocked. Sharing stories over dinner, wood fire warming our feet.

You can learn a lot about life from a farmer. There’s an admirable resilience that you don’t find in the city. A pride, passed down the generations. It puts things into perspective. Makes you feel lucky to have good friends, family, and the chance to pass down some wisdom of your own.
